Effective and sustainable syndesmotic injury repair using endobuttons and fibre-wire, in bimalleolar fractures

چکیده
Ankle fractures are the most frequent accounting for 10% of all fractures, having an incidence about 184/100,000 per year. Moreover, after external rotation or dorsiflexion injuries, syndesmotic disruption typically occurs at ankle. The physiologic normality joint gets affected a transverse screw fixation, which decreases magnitude motion lower extremes tibia and fibula, reducing contact forces between bones, increasing stress on crural interosseous membrane (which may lead to breakage). With this concern, we thus suggested achieving semi-rigid dynamic stabilization syndesmosis, using endobutton transosseous suture. We present case 22-year-old active male who had Lauge-Hansen pronation-abduction type injury. He was managed with eight holes anatomical plate lateral malleolus, two 65 mm CC screws washer medial endobuttons (one tibial other fibular side) sutures provide syndesmosis. suture; can help in early mobilization, is cost effective, prevent second surgery removal screw.

Lisfranc Dislocation having Bimalleolar Fracture with Syndesmotic Injury
INTRODUCTION Fracture-dislocations of tarsometatarsal joints are rare. Association of these fractures with ankle injuries is very rare; to our knowledge not reported in the literature. Here, we report a rare case of Tarso-metatarsal (Lisfranc) dislocation with bimalleolar fracture with syndesmotic injury. CASE REPORT Patient was treated with closed reduction and fixation of Lisfranc injury wi...
متن کاملAnkle syndesmotic injury.
Ankle syndesmotic injury does not necessarily lead to ankle instability; however, the coexistence of deltoid ligament injury critically destabilizes the ankle joint. Syndesmotic injury may occur in isolation or may be associated with ankle fracture. In the absence of fracture, physical examination findings suggestive of injury include ankle tenderness over the anterior aspect of the syndesmosis...
متن کاملIncidence of syndesmotic injury.
Injury to the tibiofibular syndesmosis can occur with ankle sprain or fracture. The incidence of syndesmotic injury has not been specifically studied at a population level. Data on syndesmotic injury were obtained from the Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project (HCUP), a federal-state-private partnership. It is administered by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, a division of the U...

Fractures of the Malleolus with Syndesmotic
7 Fractures of the malleolus associated with syndesmotic injuries are common. Diagnosis of the syndesmotic injury often is missed and requires stress testing. An initial stable syndesmosis on x-ray may get displaced in later x-ray and a high suspicion Index can prevent one from missing this injury. Figure 1 and 2. Accurate reduction and stable fixation of the syndesmosis are critical to outcome...
